We are proud to be one of the 100+ UK energy companies behind the letter to Rishi Sunak about the disastrous effects of Britain’s overreliance on gas. The latest OBR report shows that the UK is remaining as one of the “most gas-dependent economies in Europe”. It is essential the government create the investment and policy environment which is needed to accelerate the deployment of renewables in the energy sector.
We hope this letter highlights the importance of supporting the renewable energy sector, and urges the government to not back off the green agenda. With the support and resources the sector needs to flourish, we can avoid the spiralling costs of future energy shocks on the UK consumers , and significantly reduce our overall environmental impact to help us reach net zero.
